FOUNDING MOTIVE

PRESIDENT/FOUNDER

In the aftermath of a tragic event, Tizhe Kwaji found inspiration to make a difference. On the evening of June 1, 2014, an improvised explosive device was set off at a football field in Mubi, Adamawa state, Nigeria. This devastating attack claimed lives of at least 40 people and left many injured, some facing life-altering amputation.

Having witnessed the immediate chaos and profound impact on the community he saw an ignited passion to create a support group to help the amputees, which motivated him to create a non-governmental organization called “Help the Amputee Foundation” as a registered charity with the motto: assist the victims of insurgent attack, speak Africa.

CHAIRMAN

Honorable Abubakar Mahmud Wambai got into volunteering in 2016 alongside Tizhe in a support group in Adamawa State. Mahmud is now the liason officer in Help the Amputee Foundation, where he plans and organises events in Nigeria at large.
